About the Flag
"The Federal States of Micronesia flag was selected in the competition held for the determination of the national flag, which was used on 30 October 1978 after the election. After the independence of the country, the flag was officially raised on 10 November 1979. The flag consists of four white five-pointed stars on a light blue background.
The light blue symbolizes the Pacific Ocean surrounding the island, as well as freedom and loyalty, while the four stars represent the four island states that make up the federal structure. White, which gives color to the star, represent different communities of people living on the island." (source: mappr)
